&lt;p&gt;&lt;code&gt;alias ssh_gaul="export TERM=xterm &amp;&amp; ssh USER@obelix.gaul.csd.uwo.ca"&lt;/code&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;to your local &lt;code&gt;~/.bashrc&lt;/code&gt; (replace USER with your GAUL username), then restart your terminal. Now you can log into GAUL with the command&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;code&gt;&gt; ssh_gaul&lt;/code&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
